While some manufacturers do offer shock products in tablet form, pool shock is almost always found in granular form.
There are two main types of traditional (granular) shock products:
- chlorine-based shock
- non-chlorine shock
There are three main chlorine-based shock products
- Calcium Hypochlorite
- Lithium Hypochlorite
- granular chlorine
There is only one non-chlorine shock product:
- Potassium Peroxymonosulfate
