The only thing better than a pool is a pool party.
Remember to send invitations well in advance of the party to give perspective guests plenty of time to clear their schedule so they can attend your pool party.
While the actual pool party will be a good time for all of the swimmers and guests, there are some maintenance tasks that need to be handled pre-party and post-party. A pool party will not be a success if your pool water is cloudy, full of leaves and other debris, or worse, full of algae. Do not start to take care of the pool the morning of the party, or even the day before the party. If a pool party is scheduled, you need to give yourself at least a few days to prepare, or even up to a week if your pool water is currently not clean and clear. The Pool Manual will detail a pre-party chemical and maintenance schedule, including pre-party shock requirements.
Remember, as the organizer and host of a pool party, you are responsible for pool safety in and around the pool for all of your guests. When the pool party starts, your primary duty is not to make sure that everybody is having fun; let the pool itself and the party theme you devised take care of the fun. To reiterate, your primary duty is to make sure that everybody is safe while enjoying themselves in and around your pool.
The pool itself and the theme of the pool party will promote fun...don't worry about that at all. By providing food, drinks, toys, games, floats, loungers, and some relaxing patio furniture, the pool party will be a good time for all attendees.
A pool party typically has an increased number of swimmers. Remember, the higher the swimmer load (which is the number of swimmers in a pool at a given time), the higher the amount of pool chemicals that will be required. Once the pool party is over, some preventative pool maintenance must begin. The Pool Manual will detail a post-party chemical and maintenance schedule, including post-party shock requirements.
Pool parties are a lot of fun, but set-up prior to the party and clean-up after the party are a bit of a chore.
Remember to send thank-you notes, if applicable, after the pool party.
