Discolored Water
While the goal of water chemistry is to help maintain crystal clear and blue sparkling water, at times your pool water - its water clarity - will be problematic, to include discolored water.
While there are effective chemicals (a Sequesterant) and maintenance procedures that will help prevent discolored water, there will be times when discolored water is possible if conditions are favorable.
Prior to attempting to treat discolored water - regardless of the discoloration - you must first troubleshoot the chemicals and the overall condition of the water to determine the degree or overall appearance of the discoloration. There are various reasons for discolored water. By troubleshooting the chemicals and the overall condition of the water, you will be able to determine the reason(s) for the discolored water and then use the correct chemical(s) and maintenance procedure(s) to restore water clarity.
