UV-Chlorination

The use of ultra-violet light (often referred to as just UV) has always been a co-sanitizer with chlorine, because some chlorine - albeit in trace amounts - is required to assist the UV in sanitizing the pool water.

This is known as UV-chlorination.

There are many pool sanitizer options. While traditional chlorine, salt (which is converted into chlorine), and mineral-chlorination are the most popular pool sanitizers, UV-chlorination is also a viable sanitizer of pool water, primarily for those of you that want to reduce the amount of chlorine in the pool.
