Fiberglass Pool Work

If you have a fiberglass pool, this very well might be the most important section of the entire pool manual for you. This section will deal with work that will likely be needed over the years for your fiberglass inground pool.

A fiberglass pool is literally a one-piece fiberglass shell. The entire pool shell is one large fiberglass mold.

Your fiberglass pool will need work. When it does, it is imperative that you understand the reason that the pool work is needed as well as the method and any other considerations to get the work completed in a timely manner at a fair cost. Knowing this will ensure that you hire the right pool professional at the right price.

Editor's Note: I own a pool company. We are well-trained, very experienced, and properly equipped to repair any concrete pool, hybrid pool, or vinyl-liner pool. We do not have the training and therefore the experience to repair one-piece fiberglass pools. A fiberglass pool is a one-piece shell that cannot be drained for a pro-longed period of time. Because there is a higher potential for problems (primarily real structural problems) when draining a fiberglass pool - as compared to the other types of pools - the fiberglass pool should not be drained until a pool professional that is specifically trained, experienced, and equipped for fiberglass pool work is contacted, consulted with, and hired. To be clear, any structural and/or interior work on a one-piece fiberglass pool must be performed by a pool professional that is specifically trained, experienced, and equipped for fiberglass pool repairs. While we do not work on any one-piece fiberglass pools in our local market, we are quite capable of disseminating, discussing and explaining the information and support you need for your one-piece fiberglass pool.
