Information

There is a lot of free information available online about pools. However, none of this information will really discuss and explain how to fund, operate, chemically-treat, maintain, clean, care for, and service your pool.

When you are online researching your pool - including your duties and obligations as a pool owner, operator, and financier - you will find a lot of pool-specific e-commerce websites. When you're on these websites searching for information, almost universally, all you will be able to find is the same baseless, non-substantive, vague, and often contradicting rhetoric about pools. Yes, free "information" is plentiful online, but it is rarely the information that you need...in fact, it is almost never the information that you need.

That's because the clear and absolute majority of this free pool-specific "information" online has less to do with teaching you about your pool and has far more to do with persuading you to buy the pool supplies, chemicals, equipment, accessories, and other pool products that they sell online. In other words, when you are on these pool-specific e-commerce web sites and you are researching overall "how-to" information about pools, you will not find relevant or pertinent "how-to" information on these web sites. Rather, you will find scripted sales-based text about how to use the pool supplies, chemicals, equipment, accessories, and other pool products that they sell. This free pool "information" is marketing-based versus education-based. The "information" is not technically intended for the pool owner...it is really intended for the pool consumer. We realize this is the same person...you. The point is that you're not getting informed...you're getting solicited. And that is not a bad thing. That is simply the clearly-stated intent of E-COMMERCE websites.

Pool Support, Inc. will change this narrative. Now, when you're online reading our pool manual, you will get factual information, real insight, valid answers to your countless questions, and actual support for literally every topic and every consideration of pool ownership. We will help you correctly, confidently, effectively and efficiently be able to fund, operate, chemically-treat, maintain, clean, care for, and service your pool. We will help make you life as a pool owner easier, less time-consuming, less expensive, and therefore more enjoyable.

While most pool owners use national pool-specific websites (which are virtually all e-commerce websites) to research their pools, some pool owners use local websites from local pool companies. When you visit the website of your local pool companies, the information from these types of websites is likely there for 2 reasons:

  1. to provide at least some information about pools to get higher and better local search results in the search engines.
  2. to promote the products and services that they offer in your local market.

This is justifiable and admirable.

Editor's Note: I own a pool company and I have such a website in my local market too.

Their business model is not to educate you about everything related to your pool. Rather their business model is to gain your trust so that you will hire them for the professional pool needs that they offer and are very good at performing. Don't rely on these local pool company websites for all of the how-to information you need about your pool. But certainly rely on them to do what needs to be done to ensure your pool is leak-free, functional, operational, and in service during the entire season.

When you want to understand your pool, knowledge truly is power. This pool manual will provide you with the most information - and therefore the most knowledge - about your pool.

Aside from a your pool itself, this pool manual is the best investment you will ever make. Well, in all fairness, a variable speed pump and a properly-sized filter, proper plumbing sizes and schematics, an automatic sanitizer, LED lighting, an automatic pool cleaner (either a pressure-side cleaner or a robotic cleaner), an automation system, and an automatic pool cover are the best investments you'll make with your new pool. But this pool manual is almost right there with them.

Within this pool manual, the following information is available about information for your pool:
