Equipment Overview

All of the pool equipment that will be discussed and explained in this manual is the equipment that you will need to know and use to operate your pool...of course, this is only if your pool is equipped with the particular piece of equipment being referenced.

The main components of operating the pool are circulation and filtration. Every pool must circulate the water via a pump. Every pool must filter the water via a filter.

Every pool must be equipped with at least a pump and filter. In other words, a pump and filter are mandatory.

All of the other equipment is optional.

While there is so much information to convey specific to the pool equipment, perhaps the best advice about pool equipment is to ensure that it is properly-sized (when and where applicable) to the size, depth, and other specifications of your pool (primarily the number of gallons of water it holds). Too many pool owners - and even some pool professionals - fail to consider proper sizing when equipping the pool.
